Why it matters here

What Ontario businesses need to get right.

Door-to-door restrictions since 2018

Unsolicited door-to-door contracting for furnaces, air conditioners, water heaters and similar products has been restricted since March 1, 2018, with a 10-day cooling-off period for direct agreements.

No more NOSIs on consumer goods

Since June 6, 2024, notices of security interest on goods like furnaces and water heaters can no longer be registered on a home's title. Signed, verified agreements matter more for rentals and financing.

OMVIC disclosure rules

OMVIC administers the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act: all-in pricing, and disclosure of material facts such as prior rental use or accident damage over $3,000.

How it works

Three steps, anywhere in Ontario.

  1. Send

Your CRM triggers the verification through our API, or your team sends it from the portal. The customer gets a text and email from your business.

  2. Verify

The customer reviews the terms on their phone, answers your questions and signs.

  3. Prove

You get a branded PDF report and the customer gets a copy. Your team is alerted to any failed answer, and the audit trail stays with you.

FAQ

Questions from Ontario businesses

Can verification replace our welcome calls?
Many Ontario businesses use VerifiMe in place of, or ahead of, welcome calls. Every customer gets the same questions and you get a signed report and audit trail. Check any rules specific to your sector before replacing a required process.
Do you work with businesses across Ontario?
Yes. VerifiMe works with businesses throughout Ontario, including Toronto, Ottawa, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and smaller communities. Verifications reach customers by text and email wherever they are, and onboarding and support are handled remotely.
Where is verification data stored?
VerifiMe's database and file storage, which hold verification answers, signed reports and audit trails, are hosted in Canada. Some service providers, such as our SMS and email delivery partners, process limited information outside Canada; our privacy policy lists each one.
Which Ontario rules can VerifiMe help with?
VerifiMe doesn't give legal advice, but it lets you build questions around the disclosures and cancellation rights that apply to your products, record the customer's answers, and alert your team when an answer suggests a problem.
